Most motor carrier companies require their contract drivers to have non-trucking liability insurance, as it protects them if you have an accident while not under dispatch. A Lease Agreement must be in place between the owner operator and motor carrier and cannot state that you need Bobtail, Deadhead or Unladen coverage.
